Chicago-based HydraVault has secured a full building permit for a new AI-ready data center at 2538 S. Wabash. Designed by Gensler, the two-story, 20-megawatt facility will be engineered for advanced computing tasks like AI training and low-latency financial trading. The data center will implement an energy-efficient waterless cooling system and is situated near the city's main fiber infrastructure. With the foundation permit already in place, construction can now progress to completion under general contractor Power Construction.
