Trinity residents are opposing a request to rezone nearly 184 acres between Steed Road and Old Trinity Road for general and heavy industrial use. Residents of Trinity, Alabama, are urging officials to reject or modify a proposal to rezone nearly 184 acres for general and heavy industrial development near Steed Road and Old Trinity Road. Neighbors cited concerns about chemicals, noise and pollution, while landowner John Eyster said the proposal was revised to move heavy industrial uses farther from homes and add a 50-foot buffer.

The property is also advertised as a potential data center site because of nearby high-voltage transmission lines. Eyster did not identify any interested data center company and referred to Trinity's current moratorium on data centers. Mayor Vaughn Goodwin said he was unaware of the advertisement and preferred light manufacturing, such as aerospace. The Trinity Town Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing and could approve, deny or table the rezoning request.
