A developer is seeking to build two buildings on a wooded, trail-filled area along Old Amston Road in Colchester, including a data center of more than 20,000 square feet. The proposed facility would require approximately 5 megawatts of power, and the project would need a zoning change and approval from the Colchester Planning and Zoning Commission before proceeding.

Residents including Emily Wilson and Sunny Danforth expressed concern that the development would alter the area's character and could affect property values. Initial discussions with the developer addressed traffic, noise, water consumption, lighting and permitting. Residents were encouraged to submit letters or speak during public comment at the next Planning and Zoning Commission meeting at Town Hall. The University of Connecticut said it was aware of the situation but had no further comment.
