Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman is drafting an alternative moratorium on data center development after the City Council rejected an indefinite moratorium in August and again on Oct. 26. The original proposal is scheduled to return to the council’s agenda for a third vote on Nov. 9.

The proposal requires seven votes to be reconsidered, but only six council members supported reconsideration at the Oct. 26 meeting. Coffman said his alternative proposal would be structured to pass with six votes if the council rejects the moratorium again.
