Data center developers launch Infrastructure for America

Data center developers Compass Datacenters, Digital Realty, QTS, and Vantage Data Centers have collectively formed a new 501(c)(4) organization named Infrastructure for America (IFA). This national initiative aims to provide a unified voice for individuals who contribute to and benefit from data centers across the United States. IFA's core mission is to facilitate constructive, evidence-based dialogues about the integral role data centers play in bolstering local economies through infrastructure investments, community collaborations, increased tax revenues, and job creation.

The organization is also committed to engaging with public discourse on critical issues such as energy consumption, water resource management, and land development associated with data center expansion. By uniting community leaders, industry workers, businesses, educators, residents, and other relevant stakeholders, IFA intends to ensure that those most affected by data center development actively participate in devising solutions for responsible growth and fostering an informed public understanding. As an illustration of ongoing development, QTS, one of the founding members, currently has a data center under construction in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is under contract to acquire an additional 1,100-acre site in Clinton, Iowa.
