The site plan for the data center was approved by Westlake's Planning and Zoning Commission on August 4, 2026, despite ongoing public opposition.
Keller Mayor Ross McMullin has been vocal in advocating for residents, meeting with Westlake Town Manager Wade Carroll to relay concerns and explore mitigation measures. The City of Keller continues to press for transparency regarding the project's short- and long-term impacts. Additionally, Mayor McMullin welcomed Governor Greg Abbott's August 3, 2026, directive for a comprehensive statewide review of data center development, hoping it might influence the Westlake project.
On August 12, 2026, the Keller City Council held a special meeting to hear resident feedback and unanimously approved a resolution outlining concerns and requesting additional protections and information, signaling their continued engagement in the process.
