Energy intelligence company Apparent unveiled a live modular data center in Davis, California, at the historic PVUSA site. The facility operates with Apparent’s PULSE power-delivery hardware and igOS and REMI software platforms, which monitor and manage the site through a digital twin.

The demonstration is designed to show how data centers can be deployed as modular units, begin at approximately 250 kilowatts and scale beyond 40 megawatts. Apparent said the system can use solar and batteries as its primary power source and improve utilization of backup power, potentially helping developers and utilities address grid constraints and approval concerns.
