Plain City, Ohio, leaders are currently reviewing proposed regulations that will dictate the future development of data centers within the village. The Plain City Council is scheduled to conduct a second reading on these new rules.

The proposed regulations include specific setback requirements, mandating that any new data center campuses must be at least 750 feet from residential properties and 1,000 feet from Big Darby Creek. Additionally, the rules would require developers to conduct comprehensive noise and vibration studies, as well as submit a mitigation plan and a decommission plan. Currently, there are no data centers operating in Plain City.
