Northern Indiana Public Service Co. announced a proposed $57.5 million customer-credit program tied to data center development. If approved, the plan would provide the average residential customer with about $5 per month for 18 months, or approximately $90 total, beginning about 30 days after regulatory approval.

The program builds on previously announced agreements involving Amazon, Google and Microsoft, under which large-load customers fund infrastructure needed to serve them and a portion of contract revenue is returned to NIPSCO customers. NIPSCO expects those earlier credits to begin in the first quarter of 2027, while the additional credits are being structured through NiSource GenCo and remain subject to approval by an unspecified regulatory body.
