The Delphos City Council voted to impose an 18-month moratorium on new data centers and renewable energy projects, joining other communities in the area that have paused such development. City officials said the moratorium will allow the city to monitor potential action by Ohio lawmakers and statewide candidates as they develop policies for regulating the projects.

The council also appointed Doug Mullinire as mayor to replace Andre McKay, who resigned in August. Mullinire, who previously served as Delphos mayor from 2020 to 2024, said he wants to maintain the city’s progress, including work on a new safety services building and efforts to clean up and develop the canal area.
