Experts are concerned that current state regulations in Utah may not adequately protect the public from potential pollution associated with a proposed hyperscale data center, known as Project Stratos, in Box Elder County. Developers for Project Stratos have not yet submitted plans to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, indicating the project is still in its early stages.

Tim Davis, Commissioner for Utah's Department of Environmental Quality points out that the developers behind Project Stratos haven't even approached them with plans yet.
