Residents voice concern over data center development in the Poconos

Community members in Tobyhanna Township, located in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania, expressed significant opposition to proposed data center development during a recent zoning board meeting. Residents voiced concerns about a zoning change previously approved by township supervisors, which they believe is intended to facilitate the construction of a large data center on Cawball Road. About 200 attendees were present at the meeting, highlighting the community's strong feelings. Opponents cited potential negative impacts on the environment and the local community as their primary reasons for objection. One resident stated, "It's not just about the human concern, it's also about the environmental concern, the animal concern, everything," reflecting the broad scope of their worries about the project.
