The Tazewell County Land Use Committee is scheduled to discuss data centers and renewable energy, specifically focusing on two proposed amendments. One amendment will add language regarding battery storage units, solar, and wind farms. The committee is actively drafting a new data center ordinance, a process that commenced in May, as Tazewell County currently lacks specific regulations for data centers.

To aid in the development of their ordinance, the committee will host Al Green from Logan County's Zoning Department. Green will deliver a presentation on Logan County's recently approved data center ordinance, which will serve as a model for Tazewell County's drafting efforts. Committee Chairman Crawford extends an invitation to the public to attend the upcoming committee hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th, at 5 PM, to be held at the Jail.
