We asked Elko's City Council candidates about local projects, housing and data centers

Ahead of the Nov. 3 election, five of the six candidates vying for a seat on the Elko City Council participated in a questionnaire from the Elko Daily Free Press. Candidates Walter Fick, Randy Ridgway, Chip Stone, Marcella Syme, and Jim Winer addressed several key local issues, including which local project they would prioritize, the challenge of housing affordability, and their stances on data center development within the city. This article constitutes the first part of a three-part series detailing the candidates' responses.
