Tewksbury discusses watershed, data centers
Tewksbury Township is considering introducing an ordinance to ban data centers from the area. A member of the Environmental Commission encouraged the Township Committee to move forward with the drafted ban.
Alicia Weigel, a resident of the Mountainville section of Tewksbury Township and a member of its Environmental Commission, has strongly urged the Township Committee to introduce a previously drafted ordinance. This proposed ordinance seeks to prohibit data centers from establishing operations within the township.
The appeal was made during the Tuesday, September 8 meeting, where discussions also included an update from Township Engineer Joe Brosnan of Van Cleef Engineering. Brosnan informed the committee about the progress of the township’s Watershed Improvement Plan, noting the completion of Phase One and readiness to proceed to Phase Two.
