Mayor Jacob Fangman stated that the city is reviewing its ordinances, consulting with attorneys, and examining practices in other local communities to ensure Clarendon remains a safe living environment amidst the increased activity at RV parks. Interim City Administrator Floyd Hartman highlighted potential challenges related to public safety, public health, water supply, and emergency responses due to the growing population.
As housing markets in certain areas struggle to keep pace with demand, RV park developments are proving to be a viable solution for accommodating new residents. With 45 data centers projected for West Texas and 86 for North Texas, the demand for housing is expected to escalate over the next five to ten years.
