The company recently submitted new filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the 730,000-square-foot buildings, with construction slated to begin on September 1. Bastrop County Commissioners Court previously awarded EdgeConneX a 10-year property tax abatement for the project.
EdgeConneX is proceeding with a substantial $1.4 billion data center campus development in Central Texas, specifically in Cedar Creek, Bastrop County, approximately 26 miles southeast of Austin. The project includes two distinct $700 million data centers, each spanning 730,000 square feet, which are part of a larger nearly 180-acre property.
Recent Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filings indicate that construction for both facilities, internally named "EDCAUS13" and "EDCAUS14," is scheduled to commence on September 1, with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2029. Each building will feature a single story and include supporting office space along with associated site improvements. The project is designed with a closed-loop system for water conservation.
In December 2024, the Bastrop County Commissioners Court granted EdgeConneX a 10-year property tax abatement, signaling strong local government support for the development.
