Pike County, Indiana residents are actively mobilizing to prevent future data center developments within the county. Concerns regarding the potential impact of these facilities have spurred a local group to launch a Change.org petition titled “NO Data Centers for Pike County, Indiana.”
The opposition group has scheduled a public meeting for Sunday, June 14th, at the Old Petersburg Gym. Additionally, members plan to attend the upcoming County Commissioners Meeting on Monday, June 15th, held in the basement auditorium of the Pike County Courthouse, to present their concerns directly to local officials.
Pike County's efforts are part of a broader trend in Indiana, where more than 10 other counties have already implemented moratoriums or outright bans on new data center projects, highlighting growing regional concerns over such developments.
