Rockdale extends data center moratorium through Sept. 8

Rockdale County, Georgia, has extended its moratorium on accepting, processing, and approving applications for new data centers and battery energy storage systems until September 8th. This action was formalized through Resolution No. 2026-12, which amends a previous resolution, No. 2026-01. The County announced in a press release that the extension is intended to provide additional time for officials to thoroughly review existing policies, land use and zoning considerations, necessary infrastructure upgrades, and potential community impacts associated with these types of developments.
