Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman and members of the Aurora City Council are continuing work on regulations for data centers amid calls for a development moratorium and tighter rules. The council is scheduled to address the issue during a study session and regular meeting on Monday.

One proposal would prohibit future tax incentives for data centers, ending the practice of remitting sales or use taxes in exchange for job creation. The draft policy would not affect existing agreements and was supported by council members after being proposed by Coffman at an October Management and Finance Committee meeting.
