Gov: Metro Moore County, Metro Moore County Council
The Metro Moore County Council in Lynchburg, Tennessee voted 10-1 to direct County Attorney Bill Rieder to send a formal letter to LPL Solar, the contractor overseeing the Silicon Ranch solar project. The letter will threaten legal action if the company does not come into compliance with its agreements with Metro Moore County. Roads Superintendent Shannon Cauble presented photographic evidence of ongoing violations related to the 3,400-acre solar farm project under construction along Highway 55. Cauble said LPL Solar has been out of compliance with its building permit and a separate road use agreement requiring the company to repair any county roads damaged during construction. LPL Solar was not present at the council meeting, despite being formally invited to provide an update. Council members indicated that if compliance is not achieved, the next steps could include further legal action against the company. The council also discussed additional possible remedies, though they did not vote on those at this time.
