
Morton County advances data center ordinance
Morton County's draft ordinance regulating data centers has been advanced by the Planning and Zoning Commission to the County Commission. The proposed regulations were met with a positive reception from residents concerned about data center development in the area.
The Morton County Planning and Zoning Commission has advanced a draft ordinance aimed at regulating data centers within the county. The proposed regulations were handed off to the Morton County Commission following an August 26 Planning and Zoning meeting.
The initiative received a relatively positive reception from local residents who have expressed concerns about the proliferation of data center developments in the area. Natalie Pierce, Morton County Planning and Zoning Director, spoke during the meeting at the Morton County Courthouse, where Commissioners Heidi Belohlavek, Duane Ell Jr., and Jacki Buckley reviewed changes to the draft ordinance.
