Five of six appeals contesting the approval of a data center application along Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, Colorado, have been declared complete by the City of Colorado Springs. These appeals will now be reviewed by the city's Planning Commission, with a hearing date yet to be scheduled.

Simultaneously, a group called No Data Center COS organized a public discussion and protest outside City Hall, attracting approximately 100 participants who displayed signs and chanted. Protestors, including Nick Raven, emphasized the importance of public voice in such developments, with many arguments extending to data center projects beyond Colorado Springs.

The core of the dispute revolves around a proposal by developer Jason Green of Raeden to convert an existing building, previously used for computer technology, into a data center. The site is zoned for tech use, and Green asserts that the plan adheres to all city code and zoning regulations. However, area residents have voiced significant concerns regarding the project's potential impact on local power infrastructure, water consumption, and noise levels, drawing on past issues with a Bitcoin operation at the same location.
