Data centers account for 87% of all new power requests on the state's grid, and regulators stated that the previous method of reviewing requests individually was unmanageable.
The newly approved "Batch study" process will group data center projects together for review. This approach is intended to streamline the decision-making process regarding which projects advance, which are delayed, and how power resources are allocated across the state.
