Japan's Marubeni buys Texas gas producer EagleRidge Energy II

Japanese trading house Marubeni has acquired U.S. natural gas developer EagleRidge Energy II, a move reportedly aimed at supplying fuel for the burgeoning American data center sector.

EagleRidge Energy II is a Texas-based producer, and the acquisition positions Marubeni to capitalize on the increasing energy demands of AI data centers in the United States. Marubeni already possesses substantial liquefied natural gas (LNG) interests globally, with an annual capacity exceeding 700,000 metric tons.
