Decatur Township residents in Indianapolis have filed a petition for judicial review to challenge a zoning decision that would allow Sabey Data Centers to build the city's first hyperscale data center. This legal action is a "last ditch effort" to stop the project after the Metropolitan Development Commission approved the necessary zoning adjustments.

Gov: Metropolitan Development Commission, City-County Council
Decatur Township residents in Indianapolis have initiated legal action against the city's Metropolitan Development Commission in an attempt to block the construction of a hyperscale data center by Sabey Data Centers. Seven residents filed a petition on April 17 for judicial review, seeking to overturn the Commission's March 18 decision to adjust zoning requirements for the proposed facility.
Amanda Williams, president of the Decatur Township Civic Council, stated that this "egregious decision puts our community in jeopardy," emphasizing the residents' firm opposition. Sabey Data Centers opted for a variance to change land use designations in Marion County, a process that bypasses the need for approval from the City-County Council.
