The Aurora City Council rejected an effort to reconsider an indefinite moratorium on data center development, despite more than 50 residents signing up to speak in support of the pause. Resident Gary Zimmerman criticized the council during the meeting as supporters cheered.

Council members Rob Andrews, Francoise Bergan, Curtis Gardner, Stephanie Hancock and Angela Lawson voted against reconsidering the moratorium, while Mayor Mike Coffman and council members Alison Coombs, Gianina Horton, Alli Jackson, Ruben Medina and Amy Wiles supported it. Seven votes were required under meeting procedures to bring the moratorium up for discussion and a vote. The proposed pause would not have applied to the contentious Trident project, which is considering alternative locations.
