Meta has partnered with Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) to launch a scholarship program aimed at supporting local workforce development for the data center industry. The initiative will provide full-ride scholarships to high school graduates from Richland Parish, Louisiana, starting with the class of 2026. Students will be trained for various data center-related careers, including operations and electrical work.
Sophia Hauswirth reported live from the Monroe campus of LDCC, highlighting the significance of this program. The Chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College stated that the gift from Meta could "open doors" and bring "generational, transformative" opportunities to the region, which was described as a "completely impoverished area." Meta is actively collaborating with LDCC to tailor the curriculum to match current employer needs in the data center sector. Richland Parish graduates interested in these data center programs will soon be able to apply.
