Democratic Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate David Crowley announced a proposed 11-point artificial intelligence policy focused on protecting children and other vulnerable residents. His plan would limit chatbot access for children younger than 13, strengthen age verification and parental-consent requirements, and increase penalties for distributing AI-generated sexual images of minors.

Crowley, the Milwaukee County executive, is challenging Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany. Although the campaign has addressed AI largely through debates over planning and construction of AI data centers, Tiffany also said he supports safeguards for children and older adults, accountability for technology platforms, and protections against personal data reaching foreign adversaries.
