Missoula County is considering interim zoning regulations to enact a one-year moratorium on new data center applications, potentially starting next month. An existing proposal from Krambu for an artificial intelligence data center in Bonner would be exempt from this county-wide pause.

The Missoula County Board of Commissioners is contemplating the adoption of interim zoning regulations next month, which would implement a one-year moratorium on new data center applications within the county. This measure aims to temporarily halt further data center development.

However, the proposed moratorium specifically excludes an existing artificial intelligence data center project by Krambu in Bonner from its scope. Steve Wood, CEO of Krambu and Paradox Infrastructure, has previously engaged with the community, addressing questions about the proposed facility at Bonner Industrial Mill Park.
