Orangeburg County considers one-year pause on data center developments

The Orangeburg County Council has taken an initial step towards implementing a one-year moratorium on data center developments. During a special called meeting, the council passed the first of three required readings for the proposed pause.

The next meeting concerning this matter is scheduled for August 17th. This action follows similar considerations by leaders in McCormick County regarding a data center pause.
