Kline Township supervisors unanimously approved Amazon's proposed data center campus during a special meeting, giving the project a green light to proceed near Route 309 and Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County. The 350-acre development would clear woodland, and Amazon must obtain a zoning permit before construction can begin.

Residents said they had wanted the project moved farther from homes and subjected to stronger restrictions before approval. They also questioned whether the township's water system, which serves about 6,700 customers, could handle the campus's demand. The township planning commission added property blast surveys and 60-decibel noise monitoring to the approval conditions, which supervisors said would provide control over the project's future impacts.
