Spartanburg County Council advanced development agreements for two data center projects in Moore, with a third and final reading still required. A public hearing was held at 1 p.m. on Election Day, drawing criticism from a speaker who said the scheduling limited public participation.
AIB plans to upgrade an existing data center on Tiger River Industrial Drive into a permanent 50-megawatt facility designed for artificial intelligence computing. County documents estimate a $1.2 billion investment and 28 jobs. A second, newly built data center on Jones Road is expected to provide up to 65 megawatts of IT capacity for AI and cloud services, with an estimated $1.5 billion investment and 25 jobs.
