The Keller City Council voted unanimously to oppose the development, stating that they felt "blindsided" by Westlake's approval. While their vote currently lacks legal authority given Westlake's prior approval, Keller leaders have passed a resolution urging Westlake to table the agreement and site plan for 30 days. They are also requesting specific protections regarding energy usage, landscaping, and improved communication from Westlake. Residents of Keller have expressed worries about regional impacts, including concerns over power, water use, and noise, claiming these were not adequately considered during Westlake's approval process.
