Pequea Township adds rules, restrictions on data center development

The Pequea Township Board of Supervisors, during its meeting on August 19, unanimously approved an ordinance to establish rules and restrictions for data center development. This decision was made following a public hearing on the matter, where the community had the opportunity to provide input.
Board Chair Harry Lehman articulated that the township required "some kind of protection" in the event of a future data center proposal. By passing this ordinance, Pequea Township joins other Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, municipalities such as Lancaster City and Penn, Manor, Rapho, and Ephrata Townships, which have already implemented similar data center regulations and guidelines.
