Dallas could rewrite zoning rules for the first time since the 1980s

Dallas is considering its first major overhaul of the city’s zoning rules in decades, a move that could reshape what can be built across the city. The proposed changes would update regulations that determine where single-family homes, apartments, businesses and other developments can be built. City leaders say the rewrite would modernize a zoning code that has remained largely unchanged since the 1980s.
