West Virginia Chamber of Commerce sees record growth and renewed collaboration in 2025

The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce reported a highly successful year in 2025, experiencing its largest membership meeting in 89 years and record growth. Chamber President Steve Roberts noted a renewed desire for collaboration among businesses statewide following the pandemic, leading to increased engagement. The Chamber expanded its Business Academy with educational programs, including those on artificial intelligence, and hosted its largest Business Leadership Summit. This summit attracted over 600 leaders from across West Virginia to discuss key issues such as leadership, economic development, and workforce challenges. As a significant business advocacy organization in West Virginia, the Chamber focuses on issues impacting employers and collaborates with local chambers to strengthen regional economies. Roberts acknowledged that while momentum is positive, the state still faces economic challenges, including job declines since 2023, which further drives businesses to seek collective policy solutions through the Chamber. Among the emerging topics drawing considerable interest is artificial intelligence. Roberts indicated that the Chamber has been in discussions with several companies considering investments for data center development within West Virginia. He stressed the importance of careful and thoughtful planning for such projects to ensure optimal outcomes. The organization is now preparing to celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2026 with special programming and events.
