The site is already zoned for industrial use, which streamlines the approval process, but developers are engaging the community to present their plans.

Alex Almanza from WTHR reported live from Indianapolis's east side on a community meeting concerning a proposed DC BLOX data center. The meeting, which began around 6:30 PM at an East Side church, provided an opportunity for residents of Warren Township to engage directly with the developers. DC BLOX, an Atlanta-based company, intends to construct a data center on over 30 acres at the former Ford Visian site, now known as Thunderbird Commerce Center. Developers clarified that this project is not an AI hyperscale center, distinguishing it from other recent data center proposals. A significant aspect of this development is that the land is already zoned for industrial use. This pre-existing zoning status is expected to reduce the time required for approvals at the city-county building and streamline the petition process, as noted by Almanza. The meeting's purpose was for DC BLOX to present their project to the community and address local concerns, with the outcome of this engagement yet to be determined.
