Shelby County Board of Commissioners introduces proposal to pause data center development

The Shelby County Board of Commissioners introduced an ordinance that would pause data center development in Shelby County, Tennessee. The proposal was presented during a committee meeting and is expected to come before the full commission for a first reading at its next meeting.

Commissioner Henry Brooks is sponsoring the measure. She previously attempted to introduce a similar proposal during a committee meeting, but it failed to meet the requirements for introduction at that time.
