The No Data Centers SGV Coalition and the Puente Hills Community Preservation Association will hold a fundraising rally at Schabarum Regional Park in Rowland Heights to support legal and expert-analysis costs related to opposition to the Marici project. Organizers are seeking $90,000 and are calling for environmental review, disclosure of project impacts and greater public participation.

Residents have raised concerns about effects on nearby homes, schools, parks and natural resources, as well as fire hazards and toxic smoke following recent industrial and battery fires. The City of Industry Council unanimously approved moving forward with plans for the Marici battery storage facility on Gale Avenue, near the rally site.
