Data center developer DC Blox, based in Georgia, is seeking approval from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission for a variance to construct a two-billion-dollar data center campus. The proposed project at the Thunderbird Commerce Center in Warren Township would include three buildings to house computer servers.
Indianapolis City-County Councilor Michael-Paul Hart, representing the area, hosted a community meeting where dozens of residents, including Julie Watson, gathered to learn more and express their concerns. Residents voiced significant opposition, with Watson noting a common sentiment that, despite community meetings, such projects often proceed regardless of local sentiment.
A public hearing regarding the development is scheduled for June 11th at the City-County Building.
