The city of Festus, Missouri, has announced a framework agreement for a new $6 billion data center project. Developer CRG is slated to construct the facility off Highway 67 and CC.
Under the terms of the deal, CRG will be responsible for covering all costs associated with water and sewer improvements, as well as any necessary street upgrades. Festus is projected to receive substantial financial benefits from the agreement, including $45 million in community benefit payments over a decade. A portion of these funds, specifically $5 million, is designated for the construction of a new firehouse. The agreement also outlines a voluntary buyout program for residents living in the immediate area of the proposed development.
Public input on the proposal is scheduled for a public comment session on Monday at Festus High School. Following this, the city council will convene the subsequent week to cast its vote on whether to approve the agreement.
