Clay, Nassau counties consider 1-year pause on data center permitting
Nassau County commissioners will hold a final hearing on a proposed one-year data center permitting moratorium in Yulee. Meanwhile, Clay County commissioners are scheduled for their first hearing to consider adopting a similar temporary moratorium on data center applications in unincorporated areas. Both counties are considering temporary pauses on data center development.
Leaders of Nassau County, Florida, are scheduled for a final hearing on an ordinance that would impose a temporary, one-year moratorium on all data center-related projects. The commission meeting is set for tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at the governmental complex in Yulee.
Separately, in neighboring Clay County, commissioners will hold a first hearing on Tuesday to consider enacting a similar temporary moratorium. This proposed pause would specifically target the acceptance, review, or approval of data center applications within the county's unincorporated areas. That meeting is slated for 4 p.m. at the county administration building in Green Cove Springs.
