Gov: South Annville Township Planning Commission, South Annville Township Board of Supervisors
The South Annville Township Planning Commission has unanimously recommended that the South Annville Township Board of Supervisors deny a request for zoning changes submitted by 1235 Martina Drive Owner LLC. These changes are crucial for a proposed $1.7 billion data center project in the township.
Local resident Michael Schroeder, a self-described "concerned citizen," attended the planning commission meeting and shared that members addressed major issues including electricity, water usage, noise, infrasound, and property values. The commission's 6-0 vote against the zoning changes underscores the prevailing concerns, although their recommendation is advisory, and the final decision lies with the Board of Supervisors.
Schroeder urged residents from South Annville and surrounding townships and boroughs to attend the upcoming Board of Supervisors' meeting on May 13 to demonstrate strong community opposition. A petition against the data center has gathered over 450 signatures, representing nearly 20% of the adult population in South Annville Township, highlighting a grassroots effort against the project.
