Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is pushing for tougher regulations on data centers in the state.

He's calling on lawmakers to pass the Power Act.

Pritzker says the restrictions are needed to protect people from higher energy costs.

Pritzker’s comments come after Mayor Brandon Johnson proposed a data center moratorium for the City of Chicago. Other Chicago-area communities have taken similar action.
