A proposed data center near Boulder City faced pushback Wednesday evening when the Boulder City Planning Commission voted 6-1 to recommend the City Council deny the plans, following months of hearings.

“I think it's very concerning that the city council can still overrule the planning commission, and they seem quite intent on pursuing this even though the public is very, very much against it," Boulder City resident Fred Voltz said.

Despite opposition, Boulder City Council members have voted in recent months to move forward with the data center project, citing economic benefit and growth for the area.
