Mount Carmel Township supervisors have appointed attorney Donald G. Karpowich as special counsel to assist with modifications to the township's zoning ordinance concerning data centers. The decision was made at a recent meeting, with Karpowich's engagement costing the township $150 per hour, as confirmed by Supervisor Chairman Aaron Domanski. Karpowich, from Drums, Luzerne County, was seen speaking on behalf of Mount Carmel Township during a May 13 hearing on an amended ordinance held at the Coal Region Sports Complex in Atlas.
