Woodbury County Public Meetings on Data Center Zoning

Following a one-year moratorium on data facilities in unincorporated areas, the Woodbury County Zoning Commission is drafting a new ordinance to govern future data center projects once the moratorium expires. The first of three meetings is scheduled for Sloan Community Hall.
Residents in Woodbury County, Iowa, are invited to participate in a series of public meetings to discuss future zoning regulations for data centers. The Woodbury County Zoning Commission is holding the first of three such meetings tonight at 7 PM at the Sloan Community Hall. Additional meetings are scheduled for September 21 at the Moville Community Center and November 9 at the Salix Community Center.
These discussions follow the county's decision in June to pass a one-year moratorium on new tech facilities in unincorporated areas. The commission is now tasked with drafting a comprehensive data center zoning ordinance to establish rules for any future projects once the existing moratorium concludes.
