Opponents are urging Prince William County leaders not to appeal a recent court decision that voided the rezoning approval for the Prince William Digital Gateway data center campus. The Virginia appeals court upheld a lower court ruling, finding the county's public hearing advertising for the rezoning violated legal code. Residents are encouraged to speak at an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting.

Opponents of the proposed Prince William Digital Gateway data center campus are actively urging Prince William County leaders not to appeal a recent court decision that voided the county's rezoning approval. Several groups held a press conference to encourage residents to speak during the public comment portion of Tuesday afternoon's Prince William County Board of Supervisors meeting. Last week, the Virginia appeals court affirmed a lower court's ruling. The court found that the county's rezoning of properties for the data center campus was invalid because the advertising for the public hearing regarding the vote violated Code 15.2-2204(A) and Prince William County Zoning Ordinance 32-700.60. A county spokesperson stated that they are reviewing the court's decision, and the County Attorney will provide legal advice to the Board. Due to active litigation, the county maintains a policy of not commenting further on the matter.
