The move follows numerous city and zoning meetings where residents have expressed significant concerns about the growing data center industry. Key worries include the potential strain on city resources and the close proximity of large data center buildings to residential areas. Councilman Chris Nettles, among others, previously called for a moratorium to allow for more research before implementing new regulations. Community organizer Ambakka Sharma expressed encouragement regarding the vote, emphasizing the need to keep Fort Worth residents' concerns central to the city's governance.
